Partnership with LALLEMAND HEALTH SOLUTIONS

Proge Farm is pleased to announce that an exclusive license agreement has just been signed with Lallemand Health Solutions for the commercialization of the strain Lactobacillus plantarum P17630 (Proge P17630^®) in food supplements in the territories of Asia, America, France and the Czech Republic.

Lactobacillus plantarum P17630 is a unique strain, isolated, marketed and widely studied by Proge Farm for its vaginal activity. Actually, it has been shown that it is able to adhere and evenly colonize the vaginal mucosa, inhibiting the growth of pathogens and restoring the natural vaginal balance. The studies performed on the strain support its use not only in the prevention of recurrences of vaginal infections but, in particular, in the treatment of Candida vulvovaginitis.

Besides this collaboration with Lallemand, Lactobacillus plantarum P17630 is available worldwide for out-license as active ingredient of a unique medicine for vaginal use on which Proge Farm has just concluded an important and innovative clinical study. Thanks to this study, in which a traditional antifungal has been used as comparator of Lactobacillus plantarum P17630, the activity of the strain in the treatment of Candida vulvovaginitis has been proven.
